Prayer for Healing From Traumatic Experiences

Colossians 1:12-13 - Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

No matter who you are, what your financial status is, or where you live, trauma is something that we can all experience at one time or another in our lives. However, we do not have to let it ruin our lives or defeat us. Jesus died so that we could have an abundant life and not spend our entire lives hurting over anything that has been done to us. Refuse to let what anyone did to you make you live in a world of hate and anger. When unforgiveness, bitterness and resentment set in, it causes a lot of problems and sicknesses. Spiritually, emotionally and physically. God has given you the power to cancel the assignment of the enemy regarding that hurt or traumatic event and live in freedom. Here's a prayer to get you started.

Father God, I humble myself before Your throne. I thank You for the grace to make it through every traumatic experience in my life. Thank You for allowing me to still be here and giving me another day to fulfill Your will for my life.

You know about everything that has ever happened and will happen in my life. You love me and have a plan for me. I lift my heart and mind up to You now. I need healing from all the trauma and negative, bad experiences that I have been through. You sent Your Son Jesus to die for me on the cross so that I would not have to keep hurting from anything. I trust You to heal my heart because by Your stripes, I am healed.

You have said in Your word, in Jeremiah 29:11, that You know the plans You have for me, plans to prosper me and not to harm me, plans to give me a hope and a future. I trust Your plans for my life. I trust You. I forgive anyone and everyone that has ever hurt me or offended me, and I release them unto You. I trust You to heal me from the trauma and after effects of: divorce, bad relationships, break-ups, rape, abuse of every kind, death of loved ones, accidents, prejudice, discrimination, bullying and everything that ever hurt me. (Make a list and name any area of hurt specific to you). I release every offense and hurt right now in the name of Jesus. I bind the spirit of trauma and abuse from my life in the name of Jesus. I renounce all these spirits and every spirit that has come into my life to destroy me. I cancel every spirit of destruction, in the name of Jesus.

I trust you God and I need you in my life. Now that I have forgiven others, I ask for Your forgiveness for all the wrong I’ve done. I put all my trust in You and believe that You have now forgiven me and that I am clean and free from every traumatic event in my life. I ask that instead of remembering the event in a negative way, that You would let me learn from it and use it to help others who may be going through the same thing.

Father, I need Your precious Holy Spirit to heal all these areas of hurt and fill me to overflowing with Your love. You said Your Holy Spirit would come alongside of me to help me and comfort me. I trust that Your Holy Spirit is in me now, flowing and filling me to walk in victory in every area of my life. I surrender myself, my life, my heart and mind to You God. I ask that You help me commit my relationships to You so that You can show me how to handle anything You have for me. Help me not to want anything You don’t want me to want. Please help me not to entertain any relationships that are against Your will for my life. Replace them with good relationships that will help me fulfill Your will for my life. Fill every void with Your love and power.

Help me remember to call on Your Holy Spirit for everything. You said You would never leave or forsake me. Help me remember You are always with me and are a present help in the time of trouble. Help me draw closer to You so that You can draw closer to me. Thank You for Your grace and mercy to fulfill all things according to Your will. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
